Despite the increasing number of artisanal, cold-brewed, single-origin coffees now available in supermarkets, Folgers is still the most popular brand in America, according to Bloomberg Businessweek. So, is Folgers coffee any good? Well, it all depends on personal taste, but many coffee lovers in the US agree that it's an excellent brew. The fact that even Starbucks is struggling to keep up with Folgers speaks volumes. I'm a big fan and I highly recommend it. Seniors grew up with nothing but Folgers (and big brands are great at maintaining consistency over the years, no matter what happens to the harvests), so it's associated with lots of fond memories.
It's also much cheaper than Starbucks, which makes it a great choice for people on a budget. I understand why people like what they like - many of those premium grocery brands are really expensive. Plus, Maxwell House has reduced the quality of its coffee to such an extent that it's undrinkable. But one of the most common complaints is that people are increasingly disappointed with the quality of their favorite budget coffee brands.
